“We are moving forward in this dining experience, and it’s just getting started!" Chef Daryeal
Chef Daryeal is evolving the Greater Purpose Dinner into the Tiny Desk Brunch Series on May 10th, to bring the same soul-stirring mission—community, creativity, and connection—into a more dynamic and accessible format. While the Greater Purpose Dinner was rooted in intimate, intentional storytelling over elegant plates, the brunch series adds a new layer: live music, daytime energy, and a broader reach. Not to forget, we have more daylight saving hours to fill.
By blending food, music, and conversation in an open, joyful setting, the Tiny Desk Brunch makes purpose-driven gatherings feel less formal and more communal—inviting people to engage, uplift, and celebrate with ease. This move allows Chef Daryeal to continue serving meaningful moments, but with a rhythm that resonates louder, laughs that come easier, and plates that still speak with purpose.
Where Community Comes Together for Kids
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Haven Fundraiser at The Table & Gallery
This unforgettable evening brought together community, music, and mental health advocacy to support The Boys & Girls Club—a place where futures are built and young voices are nurtured.
Serena Charbonneau, Miss Connecticut Volunteer 2025 and founder of Wings to Wellness, inspired guests with her dedication to mental health education and awareness. As a Board Director for NAMI Connecticut, Serena helps guide one of the nation’s most impactful mental health organizations. She’s currently preparing for their annual awareness walk this May, which raises vital funds for mental health education, support groups, and advocacy across the state.
Joining her was Michaela Childs, also known as Miss Mountain Laurel 2024, and the visionary behind The Mariposa Project—a healing initiative for trauma survivors, rooted in the symbolism of the butterfly (mariposa in Spanish). A proud alumna of The Boys & Girls Club herself, Michaela will soon take her message of transformation and resilience to the Miss Connecticut stage this June, championing better mental health resources and the eradication of stigma.
The night was set to a powerful soundtrack by musician Hatfield, whose soulful, groove-driven performance carried the emotional weight of personal struggle and triumph. From the raw grit of "Copin' Ways" to the introspective rhythm of "Fate Comes Easy," Hatfield’s music became a heartbeat for the evening—reminding us all of the power of storytelling through song.
Together, these changemakers sparked conversation, inspired hope, and raised awareness for a cause that transforms lives—proving once again that when purpose meets passion, our impact multiplies.
